We look forward to players have gone on to play on their varsity and junior varsity teams. We look forward to seeing all of our players achieve their goals. seeing all of our players achieve their goals. We believe that softball should be taught starting at an early age, and should be made available to every girl that wants to play. As a program, we are trying to bring competitive and recreational softball to as many girls as possible on Cape Cod. Our program is not town exclusive. We welcome players from all over Cape Cod and beyond. We are expanding this year and hope to be able to create a platform for every level player that wants to get out on the field, regardless of age. Sportsmanship will always be taught first in our program. Enjoyment of a great sport, having a great time and creating a place for every athlete to work towards her own personal best are our goals. Our skills clinics are also open to players from other programs looking to improve their skills for their own teams. We welcome those players and the diversity they bring to our program. This year, our Tournament teams will be formed separately from our Summer House teams in order for players from other programs to join us at a higher competitive venue representing the Cape, while still playing for their home teams. We welcome everyone to tryout. Tryout dates and info can be found by clicking on the 2009 Calendar button. Come and get your game on with us!!! Our goal is to provide proper, safe instruction to every level player, so that she can set goals and achieve them. Every player on Cape Cod should be afforded the ability to tryout and make the teams they want to play on, in school and for travel. We aim to help those players attain those goals through the program we have designed. We look forward to watching our Riptides players success on their middle school, high school and college teams. We will continue to strive to create a place for every player to play. We are happy to announce that the local Town League that we participate in will once again have U14 and U18 brackets. The Riptides will place house teams in both of these brackets in the 2008 season. The Riptides will also run a U12 league in Barnstable in which local town teams may participate, along with an in-house U10/U12 developmental in-house program in which any player may participate(ages 5-12). In addition, SEPARATE All-Cape Tournament teams will be created for U10, U12, U14, U16 and possibly U18. Players from all area teams are welcomed to tryout and are not expected to play on Riptides summer teams in order to participate on a tournament team. We are also looking for area high school and middle school coaches interested in coaching a tournament level team. These teams will be comprised of the highest skilled players and travel to 2-3 tournament during the summer. Tryouts will be announced and any coaches interested should contact us as soon as possible. We encourage you to contact us if you are interested in playing for either a house or tournament team so that we may be better prepared for our season. |
