Below is information about our summer programs. We hope to provide a place for every level player
that wishes to join us. We will continue to provide the best softball experience possible for all of our

For competitive teams,
Birth years and skill will determine placement.

1997 and 1998 are U10 players
1995 and 1996 are U12 players
1993 and 1994 are U14 players
1991 and 1992 are U16 players
1989 and 1990 are U18 players

U14 and U18 Travel Teams

This summer, we will have U14 and U18 teams competing in the local town softball league. This
league is made up of many teams from all over Cape Cod and the area. All players are welcome to
play for the Riptides but please be advised you should check to see if your town offers a team of their
own first.

CAPE COD RIPTIDES SUMMER U14 AND U18 TEAMS
This age level is intended to get players ready for their competitive high school teams. They will be
coached as such.

Rosters will be determined for these teams by first or second week of June. All players welcome.

Both age levels will have games twice per week during the summer. U18 teams(s) will play on Monday
and Wednesday nights, with home field being Heritage Park in Mashpee. The U14 will play on
Tuesday and Thursday nights, with home field being Heritage Park in Mashpee. Games start week of
June 23rd.
Both age brackets will be ending in a Championship Tournament to be held over the weekend of Aug
1-3.
We ask that you make a commitment to the schedule if you are interested in trying out for any of these
teams. Evaluations and Placements and practices start first Sunday in June. Adults with coaching
experience are encouraged to contact us if you are interested in helping out this year.

Players are required to provide their own white pants, black socks, black belt and mouthguard. For
pitchers and third basemen, it is strongly suggested to wear protective masks. All batting helmets must
have chin straps and cages. All infielders must wear mouthguards.

Fee to participate is $125, fee includes uniform shirt and visor.
Separate tournament teams are available this year as well.

U12 Competitive League
(field location/day is subject to change)
This year, we will also have a competitive U12 league. Players will be placed on skill appropriate
competitive teams. League will play at Lombard Field for the Month of July on Tuesday And Thursday
evenings, 4:45-6:30pm. Tryouts/placements will start Sunday June 15th. Two more practices will be
held, Sunday June 22 and Sunday June 29th. First game will be held Tuesday, July 1st.
The purpose of this league is to prepare as many girls for their next step in competitive softball.
Stealing, bunting, sliding, proper pitching techniques will be a part of this game. As such, all players on
the field will be expected to wear mouth guards.   Pitchers and third basemen will be required to wear
face masks. All infielders must wear mouthguards.
Players are welcome from every town in order to get ready to play for your towns and schools in the
future. Teams will be created based on positions available and not by town of origin.   Final team
rosters will be announced June 29th. Uniform shirts will also be given out on June 29th. Games will be
played twice weekly for five weeks in July. Players are requested to be on the field, dressed and
ready to play 15 minutes before scheduled game time. Last two weeks will be played as a round
robin, final game night is July 31st. Players are required to be committed to the game schedule.

Anyone interested in coaching or learning how to coach this sport is encouraged to contact us as
soon as possible.

Fee of $50 is due now, remaining $25 will be due after tryout/placement and appropriateness for
competitive play has been determined.

Total fee to participate is $75 for five weeks, and includes uniform shirts and visors.

12 and under Developmental/Recreational Program
A 12 and under developmental program will be held again this summer. Players 5-12 are invited to
play. Players will remain in skill/age appropriate groups, which will be made as competitive as possible.
All 12-under players will be evaluated/practiced on June 15, 22 and 29 during a clinic as part of the
program. These days will be clinics designed to teach the basic skills of the game. Teams will be
determined by third day of clinic. Games will start Tuesday, July 1st and be coach pitched. Teams will
be small in size to afford more opportunities to hit and make plays.
Basic skills will continue to be taught, games will be played every day.

This program will run on Tues and Thurs evening. It will run from July 1 through July 24th (four weeks).
Please make a commitment to the schedule, as each team will depend on its players for games.
Fee to participate is $50, fee includes uniform shirt. Players should provide gray softball pants, black
socks. Mouthguards are not required, but are recommended. (we will use softer balls)
